Hello everyone!

We are excited to invite you to another soil-idarity webinar:

Join us for another critical and collaborative learning experience. This time we orient ourselves to East African soils.

We have the great fortune to listen first hand to Agnes, coordinator of the Practical Permaculture Institute Zanzibar (PPIZ). Agnes will share with us the struggles and achievements of soil fertility stewardship from indigenous, organic and permaculture practices in the region.

Gideon from the University of Cologne will share research on how dependencies on synthetic fertilizer corporations structure food systems to be crisis-prone and highly dependent on fossil fuels. We'll learn about the operations of Yara in East Africa and how their ambitions affect small-scale farmers, food prices and food sovereignty.

After their presentations we move into a Q&A with collaborative learning questions.
How can we cultivate transnational solidarities with soil guardians in East Africa who are harmed by agro-food corporations located in Western Europe?

Thanks for your kind attention and please don't hesitate to invite and circulate further

Best wishes and stay grounded
